Acts of Parliament is the name given to Acts made to resolve issues or disputes between the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Historically, the House of Lords has exerted more power over UK legislation than the House of Commons and Parliament Acts are a useful way of resolving conflict that unite both Houses on level grounding and mutual understanding.

UK legislation is the term used to define the system of law making that is conducted throughout the UK. The UK is separated into 3 areas and these separate areas are called jurisdictions. These jurisdictions have their own legal systems, one in England and Wales, once in Scotland and one in Northern Ireland.
