AD04 Change of Location of the Company Records to the Registered Office

All limited companies, whether they are private or public, must store their records and official registers together in a single location where they are available for inspection by Companies House and other government agencies.

Under the Companies Act 2006, records can be stored either at the company’s registered office, or at another address which is notified to Companies House and is called the ‘Single Alternative Inspection Location’ (SAIL). A company can only have one SAIL at any one time and when this changes, Companies House must be notified.

The company make sure that Companies House is aware of where its records are stored at all times, and this form can be used to notify Companies House that the records have been removed from the Single Alternative inspection Location to the registered office.
