CH04 Change of Corporate Secretary's Details
The company secretary is the person responsible for monitoring a company’s compliance with regulatory legislation, and is the person on whom official documents should be served.
A company secretary can be either a natural person (i.e. a ‘real’ human individual) or a corporate body. This allows companies to appoint professional service firms in order to ‘out-source’ the functions of company secretary. Under the Companies Act 2006 there is no requirement for a private company to have a company secretary, but public companies must have a qualified company secretary.
Whenever the details of a company secretary which is a corporate body change, Companies House must be notified of this change. The company can use this form to provide the updated details. Where you wish to notify Companies House of changes to the details of a secretary who is a natural person, you should use form CH03 instead.
