Mission Statement
Law on the Web - the most comprehensive online legal advice and information resource on the web
Law on the Web was founded in 1999 by a solicitor with a drive to make legal advice accessible to the masses. It has become the UK’s leading legal information site and is seen by many as an authority in most areas of law.
It is run by Brad Askew, who practised as a solicitor with a national law firm for a number of years before embarking on this adventure of making legal information easy to find and jargon-free. With the interests of the average person at heart and a sense for entrepreneurial opportunities, we were aware of the need for one exhaustive online resource covering all facets of law.
We aim to provide a comprehensive reference and meeting point for those looking for guidance in the sometimes baffling and intimidating realm of law. The law affects us all and we are happy to provide legal advice to those seeking help, being aware of the difficulties many face in doing so.
Our single priority, over and above any affiliations or sponsorships, is to be provide a useful service for our visitors. Our will to do so is unbreakable, meaning that many of our resources are free, including our legal guides and articles, and other services such as legal documents are priced fairly so that you know you're getting the best deal around.
On our site you will find free expert legal advice on any problem imaginable, no matter whether the case in question relates to Employment Law, Criminal Law, Business Law or any other legal domain.
We appreciate that every single case can’t be resolved by our legal advice and guides, which is why we also offer a free Find a Solicitor service for those cases which show all the signs of a bigger dispute in need of resolution. We have the utmost confidence that your law anxieties will be assuaged by the time you leave our site.
