Dysbarism Compensation Claims
Claiming for the contraction of dysbarism
Dysbarism is a medical condition that occurs in a change in surrounding pressures. It can happen with increases and decreases in pressure and can lead to conditions such as decompression sickness, barotrauma, nitrogen narcosis, high pressure nervous system and also atrial gas embolism. It is most common among scuba divers and people who have to deal with a change of altitudes.
Vulnerable workers
Divers in particular are exposed to ambient pressure, which is the pressure around the diver in the water. Ambient pressure increases when you descend in the water and if you are down far enough the high pressure can be very dangerous. So ascending and descending through water can cause dysbarism as the pressure dramatically changes. The same can be said when people ascend mountains, for example. The pressure decreases with height and being exposed to these changes in pressure can strongly affect the body.
Symptoms
There are numerous symptoms of being exposed to pressure on our body. They include; lung damage, sinus pain, bleeding sinuses, ear pain, tiredness, paralysis, seizures, shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, stroke, skin rash, numbness, chest pain, ruptured ear drums, giddiness, abdominal pain, dizziness, tingling, confusion, headache, etc.
Compensation claims
If you have suffered from dysbarism as a result of being exposed to changes in pressure at work, you may be entitled to compensation. If you can prove necessary steps were not taken to prevent of reduce your exposure as well as providing medical evidence, you may have a good chance of winning personal injury compensation. It is recommended you seek the help from a professional solicitor when making a claim.
