If your vehicle has been stolen, there are certain steps that need to be taken:
If you had personalised number plates for your vehicle when it was stolen and they are not returned to you within 1 year, you should be able to reclaim the same plates. To do this you must follow the procedure outlined above as the theft will have had to be registered with the DVLA for at least 1 year. You will also require a letter from your insurance company stating that they acquiesce to the reissuing.
The Road Traffic Acts were put in place to regulate the use of vehicles and also to control the behaviour of the drivers using the road. The original statute that decided the law was the Road Traffic Act 1988.
The road can be a dangerous place; there are an endless amount of offences that can be committed or inconveniences caused by someone behind the wheel of a car.
The Highway Code was originally created in 1930. The foundations of the Highway Code are essential to everyone in society. It was not designed just for drivers, in fact, the most vulnerable road users are; children and other pedestrians, the elderly, cyclists, motorcyclists and horse riders.
