Unfair Dismissal Flowchart

Rather than a convoluted explanation of the law relating to unfair dismissal we thought we would put together a flowchart that you can work through. You'll find more details to help you answer the questions on our Guidance page, and the links will take you directly to the relevant section. The current maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal claims is £58,400 (01/02/06), and £8,700 for the basic award.

By its very nature this chart gives only general guidelines, but if you follow it through it should help you to understand the relevant legal issues. It should also help you to judge whether it is worth your time and money getting further advice from an employment law specialist.
