LAW on the WEB was devised, and is written and maintained, by Martin Davies.

Martin has an honours degree in law and qualified as a solicitor in England &Image of the great man himself - Martin Davies Wales in 1985. He was a solicitor in private practice until 1992, spending four of those years as a Managing Partner with a firm in Portsmouth. In 1994 he became Director of Marketing for a large regional law practice in Hampshire, and was then Director of Operations for one of the largest law firms in the South East of England. From February 2000 he has worked  full-time on LAW on the WEB. He has written for various legal publications and for The Times and The Independent newspapers. He is also the author of "How to Apply for a Legal Aid Franchise" and "Legal Marketing", both published by Blackstone Press. He has lectured and acted as a consultant to the legal profession on web issues.

LAW on the WEB was conceived in April 1999 and was first published in July 1999. The aim of the site is to make the law more accessible to individuals through easily found, easily understood and constantly updated information. The site continues to grow and develop and to attract more visitors. In 2007 more than 650,000 people used us.
