Letter of Claim for Negligence or Breach of Contract by Repairman

If you have paid someone to repair a damaged item, it’s reasonable that you could expect them to do a good job, but unfortunately it does happen that you will receive an item back from a repair shop no better than it was before, or perhaps broken even more conclusively. In these cases it’s likely that you will be able to make a claim for professional negligence, but for some people it is hard to know how to phrase their request for compensation.

Fortunately, Law on the Web offers this absolutely template for a letter of claim (also known as a letter before action) which can be sent to an individual or company who you employed to provide a repair service which later transpired to be inadequate. It requests that they pay compensation consisting of the fee you paid in addition to payment for any losses incurred as a result of the inadequate repair, or that they re-perform the repair service free of charge.

You don’t need legal expertise to complete the letter – just make your free download and enter the relevant details in place of the red placeholder text. It couldn’t be easier!
