Employee Letter Requesting Statutory Maternity Leave

When a child is born, the mother is expected to take time off of work to bond with and care for it, and this is enshrined in law in the form of maternity leave. Any pregnant woman considered an employee (someone who works under a contract of employment) is entitled to receive up to 52 weeks of maternity leave, beginning around the time their child is born.

This letter can be used to ask for Statutory Maternity Leave from your employer. It sets out your situation and request clearly and politely, citing the relevant laws and regulations, and doesn’t require any legal knowledge on your part to fill out.

The letter template is easy to download, and all you have to do once you have it is replace the red placeholder text with your details and information. It really couldn’t be simpler, so why not download it today?
