N16A Application for Injunction

An Injunction is a court order which compels someone to perform a specific task (called a “mandatory injunction”) or prohibits them from undertaking a specific activity (called a “prohibitive injunction”). For example, an injunction can be used to force someone to perform a contractual obligation which they have agreed to, or prevent someone from using their property in a way which causes nuisance to their neighbours. A person who fails to comply with an injunction commits an offence of “Contempt of Court” and can be fined or imprisoned.
