N266 Notice to Admit Facts

Court cases can be drawn out and expensive, and all parties to a court claim and the judge will want to ensure that a trial or hearing lasts for no longer than is necessary and only deals with issues on which there is a dispute.

Either party can use this form to request that the other party to the claim admits facts which are non-contentious or on which they both agree. The party receiving this request can use the same form to admit the facts, and it then becomes unnecessary for either party to produce evidence on these facts at trial.

For example, in road traffic accident claims, both parties will often want to make reference to the weather conditions, the state of the roads and the quality of light to support their own case and to undermine the other party’s case, and usually they will agree on these facts.

This form can be downloaded directly from the government website here.
