Q: I work 2.5 days per week for a partnership. I would like to know if, during my maternity leave period, I am permitted to work self-employed elsewhere for the other 2.5 days per week. Am I allowed to do this or will I lose the right of pay under the partnership agreement?
A: There is a restriction on receiving maternity allowance whilst working elsewhere. However there is nothing we can find to restrict you in terms of the maternity pay under the partnership agreement - unless the agreement itself expressly prohibits this.
