Q: My insurance has denied me a courtesy car despite the fact that I explicitly paid extra on my policy to have one. Why have they denied me?
A: If you are unsure as to why a company has denied you a courtesy car, you may wish to read the terms and conditions of your insurance policy for your entitlement to have one. If they continue to refuse, ask for an explanation.
I had a glazing firm in to install windows when a window fitter dropped a hammer which smashed my toilet lid. I had estimates of £300 and £375 for a replacement but received a cheque for £200 which was incorrectly addressed to the glazing company and not to me. I returned the cheque asking for a replacement addressed to me. I attempted to contact the company a number of times and was finally informed that I had been sent a cheque 2 weeks prior to me telephoning them. I have still yet to receive the cheque; even when I sent a letter to the company allowing them a week to reply, I still heard no response. How can I check that the cheque has not been cashed and that I will receive a replacement cheque?
read moreI have received an email from a company stating that my car was involved in an accident and are requesting that I let them view my vehicle. The car has not been involved in an accident; is the company trying to scam me?
read moreI purchased a leather suite from a business. After 7 days, I noticed leather creases covering it and that the comfort goes immediately once sitting on the sofa. I took photographs of the creases as evidence and took these to the business. I also sent the photographs to the suite manufacturers and lodged a complaint at the business headquarters. A man came to investigate my complaint, took a photograph and left after assessing my problem. A few weeks later I received a letter from the business headquarters stating that there was nothing wrong with the suite. I then contacted the headquarters saying that I was not happy with the product or with the results of the investigation as the suite in the showroom had no creases and I had purchased the suite only a few weeks prior. I also telephoned to reiterate this point in the letter. The person on the line would not give an answer as to whether the headquarters had even received my photographs. I wish to have a second opinion and I am not sure what else I can do about this purchase.
