Q: : I recently bought some turf from a seller who assured me it was good quality. I have found out that the turf is in fact defective for the purpose I bought it for. What right do I have?
A: You may well have a claim under the Sale of Goods Act. It is recommended that you send a letter before action to the seller informing him of the situation.
After I hired an engineering company to carry out work, I was quoted over the phone one price, yet I received an invoice from the head office quoting another much more costly amount. The original quote was £250. The company did extra work for 20 minutes and are now charging £490. I would like to dispute this. How do I go about doing this?
read moreI employed a contractor to fix solar panels onto my roof. The company was also meant to undertake other work such as replacing two rows of tiles and placing new roofing felt, as well as removing debris and reimbursing me for the costs I had to pay for the skip. This work has not been undertaken and the debris is still on my roof. The guarantee on the installation is 10 years in conjunction with MCS industry standards. However, problems quickly arose days after the installation. Heavy rain caused leaks on two occasions and the contractors came to fix the problem on both accounts. Another leak has now developed and I have been trying to contact them on a number of occasions for a couple of months. I received a delivery failing and cannot contact them. I am unsure of whether the contractor is still trading. What can I do about this situation?
