Q: There is a serious amount of mould showing in my property and I cannot get hold of my landlord. I notified my agency a few weeks ago and bought a de-humidifier. The agencies response was that they would write to the management agency to find out if there are other problems with the building and come and turn up the extractor fan. What should I do now?
A: You may wish to report this issue to Environmental Health as they have the power to serve orders requiring landlords to carry out repairs. You could also potentially make a claim against your landlord by looking to argue that he has not upheld his repair obligations thus breaching the terms of your tenancy contract.

She has now received an email saying that her February rent was due. The lease does not state that it’s an Assured Shorthold Tenancy. What can be done?
