Q: I have received calls from a debt collection company on behalf of a bank, for someone with the same name and same date of birth as me. I was told they were removing my details but they have not. This has now been added to my credit file. What should I do?
A: Contact the holders of your credit file to raise a dispute with them. You could also go through the internal complaints process at the bank and contact the Financial Ombudsman Service at this link.
