A: When an accident is due to someone or something, legal action can be taken. As this is not the case here, contacting your travel insurer and explaining the scenario is advisable.

read moreI had a fall on the seafront by tripping over a storm board. I asked the council to do something about this barrier because I believed it had not been correctly lit and marked; someone else had also fallen on the same day and punctured their lung. My fall resulted in me breaking my nose. The council either do not respond to my attempts to contact them, or claim that it is another council's responsibility. I have also written to the council and was told that there is nothing wrong with the barrier. What can I do?
