Q: I live on a residential road that has a driveway. I reversed out of the driveway at night and someone had parked on the road across from it, on the opposite side of the road. I hit the parked car, denting the driver’s door. The car was black and it was dark. The owners of the car are claiming on my insurance but I would like to know if I have any legal defence?
A: As you owe a duty of care when driving and have caused the damage we cannot see any defence to this and you are likely to be found liable.
I am registered disabled and I own a disabled parking badge. I was parked outside a store in a disabled bay, and I received a letter advising me that I have been given a parking fine. I am unsure whether I displayed my disabled badge. What should I do?
