Q: A client of mine came to have an eye test. The client took the prescription and had the prescription made at another optician. The client complained to me that the prescription was wrong. The other optician came up with another prescription but won’t tell me what lens was used so I had to replace both. The client was happy with this but 6 weeks later the client has now complained again. I would like to know how many times I should replace the prescription.
A: According to the Sale of Goods and Services Act there is no specific number of times if the breach of contract still exists.
One of my clients is threatening legal action due to a complaint made concerning his carpets. Whilst my client was on holiday, I was paid to clean his carpets. I spoke to the cleaner of the customer to see whether it was necessary to move my customer's heavy furniture to which the reply was no. I would not have been obliged to move my customer's furniture anyway due to the risk and would have asked them to move the furniture themselves if they requested this. The customer returned from holiday and is stating that they did want their carpets cleaned under the furniture and I have to return to do this or they will employ someone else to do the job and charge me for the costs whilst taking action in court. What action should I take?
