Q: One of my employees is going to court as there is strong evidence that she has been stealing from the company. Am I allowed to tell the other employees about the situation?
A: You may not want to disclose too much information to the other employees and simply remind them to follow company procedure to avoid disciplinary action.
I have previously spoken with an employee about his anger issues but I have not taken disciplinary action against him. I also held a meeting with other members of staff regarding the mess that is usually left at the premises and health and safety and all the members of staff responded reasonably at the meeting except this employee. I asked him why he does not report matters to his line manager, and he disparaged his line manager, accusing him of not doing any work. I am now taking disciplinary action against him for inappropriate comments, and for throwing a piece of worktop in the work premises. What should I do now?
