I had a verbal contract with a contractor to do some work on my drive. I eventually asked him to leave and not to continue as the work was poor with wonky walls, poor fittings and a poor finish. The builder came out of his van and knocked the wall back down with a sledgehammer. I want to know what to do as the builder is saying that I owe him money. I have not paid the builder and he has removed all of his materials and dug out some of the drive but not enough. I do not want to pursue the builder but I am worried that he might begin legal proceedings against me. What should I do about this situation?

I have given the builder three opportunities to come back, but each time a young lad who does not resolve the issue is brought. I have not paid the builder any money yet. What should I do?

Read MoreI had work carried out on the roof of my property. Cracks are now appearing inside the property where the work was carried out. The company is ignoring me – they said they would rectify the problem at first and admitted liability, but now they are going back on their word. I have a report from an independent party which says that the cracks were attributable to poor workmanship. I have no quotations of the cost of repairs but I can obtain them.
